Prehistoric Drool

Here's two drawings that I've been working on in a very open-ended way. There were no pencils or roughing out, just taking repeated passes at them with pen and inks, building up details then striping them out and adding new ones, trying to balance out the light and dark and suggest the overall form along the way.

The Anti-Social Club Project 10: Redo

prted

A quick paint marker sketch for Redo for The Anti-Social Club. I chose project one which was self-portrait, well actually a catch up rather than a redo as I hadn't started doing these yet.

Lumberjack Shadow Funk

Had this idea a while back and the shadow brief for The Anti-Social Club reminded me of it. I knew i wasn't going to have time to do it for that but decided to put it together over the weekend.

Cat Splat

Scruffy arse tiger. I don't tend to stick to one medium for many pieces but threw just about everything at this sketch. Watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencils, paint markers, blue lead, fine liners, graphite. Working like this feels really natural for me but tend not to indulge it to much as it's easy to get carried away with the mess and lose any definition. I think this balanced out pretty well though.

Badger Foot

These are from a couple of years back now and probably the oldest thing I'll post here but thought I'd throw them up as they were a whole lot of fun to do. I always love fitting designs to irregular shapes and working out how to get the paint to work on different surfaces.

Pussy Riot Tribute

prsplt
It's amazing the shit that women have to put up with, and not just Russian activists but all women. A snippet of this illustration was used in the Pussy Riot collage in the current feminist issue of STRIKE! MAGAZINE. Proud to be a little part of it.
